Benjamin P. Levine, MD – Orthopedic SurgeonI completed my training in Orthopedics at the University of Vermont and a fellowship in hand and upper extremity at the University of Rochester. In 1999, I began my career in Minnesota where I practiced for six years. In 2005, I joined Excel Orthopedic Specialists as it brought me closer to my family in the greater Boston area. While in Minnesota, I served as the hand surgeon for the Minnesota Twins, Vikings, Wild and Timberwolves. My interest and research activities in upper extremity trauma have allowed me to speak internationally and train other orthopedic surgeons. I have special interest in trauma and sports medicine of the upper extremity. My fundamental philosophy is to try all alternatives to surgery when appropriate. I feel that many orthopedic problems can be resolved with the help of Hand and Physical Therapy obviating the need for surgery. I enjoy treating patients of all ages. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, cooking, participating in Masters swimming and Triathlons, and boat building. Education
